White River Lodge 50 Anniversary Celebration
On May 4, 2013 White River Lodge celebrated its fiftieth anniversary with about 75 people in attendance. The time capsule that was buried in 1988 was opened. Pictures at the left are those of people who were in attendance and of the memorabilia of the time capsule.
The two brothers cutting the cake are the charter members of the Lodge, Hal Butler and Levon Raybon.
Memorabilia from the time capsule included a copy of the White Mountains magazine from 1988; an Arizona Republic from 1988; corn, wine, and oil; Calumet and Clabber Girl baking power because two brothers who liked to make biscuits argued constantly which was better; a can containing biscuits from one of the brothers; bolo ties; an installation of officers program from December 1987, among other items.
Lunch consisted of cowboy beans, coleslaw, and biscuits prepared by chef Gene Stirling.
